[363] Exodus 33: What is immortality? No man can see God and yet live?

20 And he added: You are not able to see my face, because no man [with 120 year max lifespan - Moses lived 120 years to the day] may see me and yet live [my spirit will not act indefinitely towards man in that he has erred/is also flesh, accordingly his days will be 120 years - Genesis 6:3. If God's spirit is against you, you are finished.] (Exodus 33).

3 After that Jehovah said: My spirit shall not act toward man indefinitely in that he is also flesh. Accordingly his days shall amount to 120 years. (Genesis 6 NWT)

16 The one alone having immortality, who dwells in unapproachable light, whom not one of men has seen or can see. To him be honor and might everlasting. Amen. (1 Timothy 6 NWT)
16 The only (one) having immortality, light dwelling in unapproachable, whom saw no one of men nor to see he is able; to him honor and might everlasting; amen. (1 Timothy 6 KIT)

9 And Moses and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu and 70 of the older men of Israel proceeded to go up,
10
and they got to see the God of Israel. And under his feet there was what seemed like a work of sapphire flagstones and like the very heavens for purity. (NWT)
11 And he did not put out his hand against the distinguished men of the sons of Israel, but they got a vision of [Not in Hebrew which just says they saw God] the [true] God and ate and drank. (Exodus 24 NWT)

9 And Moses and Aaron went up [with] Nadab and Abihu, and seventy from the elders of Israel.
10
And they saw the God of Israel. And under His feet [was] as the work of a pavement of sapphire, and the same as the essence of the heavens for clearness.
11 And He did not stretch out His hand to the nobles of the sons of Israel. And they saw God, and they ate and drank. (Exodus 24 GLT)

9 And Moses goeth up, Aaron also, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel,
10
and they see the God of Israel, and under His feet {is} as the white work of the sapphire, and as the substance of the heavens for purity;
11 and unto those of the sons of Israel who are near He hath not put forth His hand, and they see God, and eat and drink. (Exodus 24 YLT)

20 And he added: You are not able to see my face, because no man may see me and yet live.
21 And Jehovah said further: Here is a place with me, and you must station yourself upon the rock.
22 And it has to occur that while my glory is passing by I must place you in a hole in the rock, and I must put my palm over you as a screen until I have passed by.
23 After that I must take my palm away, and you will indeed see my back. But my face may not be seen. (Exodus 33 NWT)

The last sons of man to see the face of God were the OLDER men of Israel AND Moses. These men had a 240 year max lifespan like their forefathers Abraham Isaac and Jacob. Moses was the boundary between the 240 year max lifespan and the 120 year max lifespan humans - see intro15.html. Moses lived for 120 years to the day. This however was not his maximum lifespan, because his eye had not grown dim at that age!

7 And Moses was 120 years old at his death. His eye had not grown dim, and his vital strength had not fled [i.e. he did NOT die of old age]. (Deuteronomy 34 NWT)

The spirit of God was towards mankind, in accordance with Genesis6:3, until Moses and then it was against him in the sense that they could no longer see his face after Moses. Indeed Moses got to see his back in Exodus33 and not his face (which he had seen earlier in Exodus24), as a prophecy that from then on mankind could not see God's face and neither would they see what he was going to do, they could only see he back, i.e. what he had done. He turned his back on us from Moses onwards. However after 2012Sivan16, Zoarites became non adamic, with 240 year max lifespan human bodies. So they could at that point once again see God's face - i.e. what God was going to do! He had no longer turned his back upon us.

The 3 men, all of whom were angels, who met Abraham in Genesis 18 were Jehovah, Michael and Gabriel

1 Afterward Jehovah appeared to him among the big trees of Mamre, while he was sitting at the entrance of the tent about the heat of the day.
2 When he raised his eyes, then he looked and there 3 men were standing some distance from him. When he caught sight of them he began running to meet them from the entrance of the tent and proceeded to bow down to the earth.
3 Then he said: Jehovah, if, now, I have found favour in your eyes, please do not pass by your servant [FDS4, Jesus' servant] [How did Abraham know who these 3 were? Well he had met God before in the same human body in Genesis 17 when he was given the covenant of the circumcision: Jehovah said: I am God almighty - Genesis 17:1].
4 Let a little water be taken, please, and you must have your feet washed [Abraham washed God's feet pointing forward to the New Passover when the LWs wash the feet of the 1NC reserves who are the flesh of Jesus who is now a God. In fact washing the feet of 3 men who were angels points forward to the 3 New Passovers where we wash the feet of the 1NC reserves who are passed over]. Then recline under the tree.
5 And let me get a piece of bread, and refresh your hearts. Following that, you can pass on, because that is why you have passed this way to your servant. At this they said: All right. You may do just as you have spoken.
6 So Abraham went hurrying to the tent to Sarah and said: Hurry! Get 3 seah measures of fine flour, knead the dough and make round cakes.
7 Next Abraham ran to the herd and proceeded to get a tender and good young bull and to give it to the attendant, and he went hurrying to get it ready.
8 He then took butter and milk and the young bull that he had got ready and set it before them. Then he himself kept standing by them under the tree as they were eating (Genesis 18).

22 At this point the men turned from there and got on their way to Sodom; but as for Jehovah, he was still standing before Abraham (Genesis 18).

1 Now the 2 angels arrived at Sodom by evening, and Lot was sitting in the gate of Sodom. When Lot caught sight of them, then he got up to meet them and bowed down with his face to the earth (Genesis 19).

30 Hence Jacob called the name of the place Peniel, because, to quote him, I have seen God face to face and yet my soul was delivered [Because he had a 240 year max lifespan body] (Genesis 32).

22 Consequently Gideon realized that it was Jehovah's angel. At once Gideon said: Alas, Sovereign Lord Jehovah, for the reason that I have seen Jehovah's angel face to face! (Judges 6)

5 And I [Isaiah] proceeded to say: Woe to me! For I am as good as brought to silence, because a man unclean in lips I am, and in among a people unclean in lips I am dwelling; for my eyes have seen the King, Jehovah of armies, himself! [in a vision] (Isaiah 6)

Moses after the point where Jehovah turned his back on him (but not before), Gideon and Isaiah could not see the face of Jehovah and live since they were in 120 year max lifespan bodies (Moses was in a 240 year max lifespan body as was his brother Aaron who lived to 123 years old). Abraham Isaac and Jacob could see God and live since they were in 240 year max lifespan bodies.

2 Do not forget hospitality, for through it some, unknown to themselves, entertained angels (Hebrews 13).

Paul is referring to Abraham here entertaining the angels of Genesis 18.

Technicality: Jehovah, entered into the angelic body we call Angeliah, in order to procreate Satan - see U264a. This body was the ransom for escape from Tartarus which is angelic first death. If Jehovah took that body back for a few days to visit Abraham in, then the result would be that no angel could leave Tartarus during the period of its use by God. Jehovah would give the body back and re-instate the ransom after his holiday on earth.

What is immortality and who has it?

16 The one alone having immortality, who dwells in unapproachable light, whom not one of men has seen or can see. To him be honor and might everlasting. Amen. (1 Timothy 6 NWT)
16 The only (one) having immortality, light dwelling in unapproachable, whom saw no one of men nor to see he is able; to him honor and might everlasting; amen. (1 Timothy 6 KIT)

Jesus has everlasting life. Jesus is a God to be worshipped. Why then is only Jehovah immortal? Well the Greek word translated immortality is the noun aqanasia, from a - qanatoj meaning deathlessness. It means that you cannot be killed by anyone else. So here are the levels of mortality of all creation...

Person Can be killed by his own body Can be killed by his brother? Can be killed by a God Will be killed by a God Can be killed by Almighty God Will be killed by Almighty God
Jehovah, almighty God No No No No n/a n/a
Jesus, mighty God No No No No Yes No
Angels with everlasting life No No Yes No Yes No
Angels without everlasting life No No Yes Possibly Yes Possibly
Non adamic Humans No Yes Yes Possibly Yes Possibly
Adamic humans Yes Yes Yes Possibly Yes Possibly

God is immortal because no person other than himself can kill him. Jesus, although a God, is not immortal because God can kill him although he never will because he has given him everlasting life, which is a promise not to kill him.
