Here is the evidence that the Watchtower applied to join the UN as an associated NGO (that is the only way that an organisation can join the UN) in 1991. They were officially accepted by the UN on January 28th 1992. They were exposed in the UK Guardian newspaper as Hypocrites on October 8th 2001 and they were disassociated by the UN (at the Watchtower's request) on October 9th 2001.
This short exposition seeks to establish that:
[1] This truly happened
[2] Harlotry with the UN is a sin for which there is no atonement for the Watchtower.
[3] The way that any Church rides the Beast is by joining the UN as an associated NGO. This is the only way for such an organization to join the UN. All major world religions are associated NGOs to the UN.
[4] The 10 years of idolatry are prophesied in Revelation 17 accurate to the year
[5] Daniel 8 and Daniel 12 prophesy the exact day when Watchtower would join the UN. This day was January 28th 1992, which is 4600 solar days (of Daniel 8), before 1290 Lunar days (of Daniel 12:11) before the last day of this system, which is March 21st 2008, or Nisan14 2008. A day or hour that nobody 'has known' past tense - check a Greek Interlinear Bible.
[6] The UN-Watchtower covenant, when it came into force on January 28th 1992, was the transgression causing desolation (to the Watchtower) as prophesied in Daniel8 and Daniel12.
[7] Jesus refers to this transgression in Matthew 24 and in Mark 13 as the disgusting thing that causes desolation standing in the holy place. His advice is that when you catch sight of it, you should flee to the mountains.
Jesus' advice was that on catching sight of the disgusting thing, one should flee to the mountains and not return to the house. So having understood that the master is asking his sheep to leave the house of the now evil slave of the fallen Watchtower, the reader will want to know where these mountains of the Lord are. Putting this another way, the idolatry of the Watchtower categorically confirms the chronology of the Lord's Witnesses to the day! And there is the finesse of the true God.

Recently the NGO Section had been receiving numerous inquiries regarding the association of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York with the Department of Public Information (DPI). This organization applied for association with DPI in 1991 and was granted association in 1992. By accepting association with DPI, the organization agreed to meet criteria for association,
including support and respect of the principles or the Charter of the United Nations and commitment and means to conduct effective information programmes with its constituents and to a broader audience about UN activities.
In October 2001, the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York requested termination of its association with DPI. Following this request, the DPI has made decisions to disassociate the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York as of 9 October 2001.

On the 9th October 2001, as a result it become known that the Watchtower had been riding the beast for nearly 10 years, the Watchtower terminated its association with the UN. But just because the woman gets off the Beast does not mean she has stopped being a Harlot.

Because of published allegations by opposers that we have secret links with the United Nations, a number of branches have inquired about the matter as we have replied.
This circular letter replaces any replies we have given earlier and is sent to all branches. To anyone inquiring within your branch territory you might respond according to what is stated below:
Our purpose for registering with the department of Public Information as a non governmental organisation (NGO) in 1991 was to have access to research material available on health, ecological and social problems at the United Nations library facilities. We had been using the library for many years prior to 1991,
but in that year it became necessary to register as an NGO to have continued access. Registration papers filed with the United Nations that we have on file contain no statements that conflict with our Christian beliefs. Moreover, NGOs are informed by the United Nations that “association of NGOs with the DPI does not constitute their incorporation into the United Nations system, nor does it entitle associated organizations or their staff to any kind of privileges,
immunities or special status”.
Still,
the criteria for Association of NGOs – at least in their latest version –
contain language that we cannot subscribe to. When we realized this, we immediately withdrew our registration. We are grateful that this matter was brought to our attention.
We trust that the above is, helpful in counteracting attempts of opposers to discredit us.

According to the published information from the Holy Bible, the time then came for all the political nations to yield their sovereignty in the earth peaceably over to the heavenly kingdom of God's enthroned Son Jesus Christ. World history shows that,
instead, more than a score of nations, led by Christendom, engaged in a global war for world domination. Because of this course the nations entered into the "time of the end" foretold in the Holy Bible, which will reach a conclusion in their violent destruction;

in order to prevent the destruction of the nations by their own means in war,
the nations further refused the surrender of their sovereignty to God's Messianic kingdom by setting up a society of nations, which, since 1945, has taken the form and the name of the United Nations, with international headquarters at New York city. This international organization stands for world sovereignty by political men. For years men without faith in God's kingdom have endeavored to get all people to worship this international image of human political sovereignty as the best hope for earthly peace and security, in fact,
the last hope for humanity. To date 111 nations have given worship to this political image by becoming members of it. However, we, as witnesses of the Sovereign God Jehovah, will continue refusing to engage in such idolatrous worship, for we see, under angelic enlightenment, that God has smitten such idolaters with a malignant ulcer, symbolically speaking, that will spell death to them as spiritually diseased image worshipers who worship a man-made political creation rather than the Creator of heaven and earth;
What is an NGO?
A non-governmental organization (NGO) is any non-profit, voluntary citizens' group which is organized on a local, national or international level. Task-oriented and driven by people with a common interest, NGOs perform a variety of services and humanitarian functions, bring citizens' concerns to Governments, monitor policies and encourage political participation at the community level. They provide analysis and expertise, serve as early warning mechanisms and help monitor and implement international agreements. Some are organized around specific issues, such as human rights, the environment or health. Their relationship with offices and agencies of the United Nations System differs depending on their goals, their venue and their mandate.
Over 1,500 NGOs with strong information programmes on issues of concern to the United Nations are associated with the Department of Public Information (DPI), giving the United Nations valuable links to people around the world. DPI helps those NGOs gain access to and disseminate information about the range of issues in which the United Nations is involved, to enable the public to understand better the aims and objectives of the world Organization.
How do NGOs and DPI cooperate?
The Department of Public Information and NGOs cooperate regularly. NGOs associated with DPI disseminate information about the UN to their membership, thereby building knowledge of and support for the Organization at the grassroots level.
This dissemination includes:
Publicizing UN activities around the world on such issues as peace and security, economic and social development, human rights, humanitarian affairs and international law;
Promoting UN observances and international years established by the General Assembly to focus world attention on important issues facing humanity.
When did the DPI relationship with NGOs begin?
The importance of working with and through NGOs as an integral part of United Nations information activities was recognized when the Department of Public Information was first established in 1946. The General Assembly, in its resolution 13 (I), instructed DPI and its branch offices to:
"...actively assist and encourage national information services, educational institutions and other governmental and non-governmental organizations of all kinds interested in spreading information about the United Nations. For this and other purposes, it should operate a fully equipped reference service, brief or supply lecturers,
and make available its publications, documentary films, film strips, posters and other exhibits for use by these agencies and organizations."
In 1968, the Economic and Social Council, by Resolution 1297 (XLIV) of 27 May,
called on DPI to associate NGOs, bearing in mind the letter and spirit of its Resolution 1296 (XLIV) of 23 May 1968, which stated that an NGO "...shall undertake to support the work of the United Nations and to promote knowledge of its principles and activities, in accordance with its own aims and purposes and the nature and scope of its competence and activities".
A UN DPI press release dated 7 August 1992 (NGO/211 PI/770) stated:
The NGOs officially recognized by the DPI co-operate with the United Nations to help build public understanding and support for United Nations programmes and goals.
"What are the Criteria for NGOs to become associated with DPI?"
Organizations eligible for association with DPI are those which:
Share the ideals of the UN Charter;
Operate solely on a not-for-profit basis;
Have a demonstrated interest in United Nations issues and proven ability to reach large or specialized audiences, such as educators, media representatives,
policy makers and the business community;
Have the commitment and means to conduct effective information programmes about UN activities by publishing newsletters, bulletins, and pamphlets; organizing conferences, seminars and round tables; and enlisting the cooperation of the media.
"What is the procedure for NGOs to become associated with DPI"?
An NGO that meets the established criteria should send an official letter from its headquarters to the Chief of the NGO Section, Department of Public Information,
expressing interest in association with DPI. The letter should state the reasons why the organization seeks such association and should briefly describe its information programmes. This letter should be accompanied by at least six samples of recent information materials produced by the applying organization.
Letters of reference from UN Departments, UN Programmes and Specialized Agencies, and/or UN Information Centres and Services (UNICs and UNISs) will greatly enhance consideration of the application.

Non-Governmental Organizations formally associated with United Nations through the Department of Public Information (DPI) disseminate information about the work of the United Nations to their memberships and endeavour to build knowledge about the United Nations and support for the Organization at the grassroots level. A person might renounce his place in the Christian congregation by his actions, such as becoming part of an organisation whose objective is contrary to the bible, and hence is under judgement by Jehovah God. (Compare Revelation 19:17-21; Isaiah 2:4) So if one who was a Christian chose to join those who are disapproved of God, it would be fitting for the congregation to acknowledge by a brief announcement that he had disassociated himself and is no longer one of Jehovah's witness - The Watchtower, September 15, 1981 page 23.
Jehovah is a God of integrity, not of expediency or of politics. The Watchtower are disfellowshipped by their own words.

2 Jehovah is a God exacting exclusive devotion and taking vengeance; Jehovah is taking vengeance and is disposed to rage. Jehovah is taking vengeance against his adversaries, and he is resentful toward his enemies (Nahum 1:2).
The writer remembers attending the circuit assembly around 1993 called the exclusive devotion circuit assembly or the likes. Throughout the whole assembly the Watchtower was devoted to both God and the UN.
The first commandment was: Thou shalt have no other God's before my face. Idolatry is the greatest sin since it is a failing to show love or even respect to God.
Every building owned by the Watchtower is dedicated to God. Every baptised JW is dedicated to serve God. Dedication means an exclusive service to God. For the Watchtower to make an agreement that they will promote and support and advertise the UN and its charter in circumstances where they and all of their assets are not merely covenanted but actually dedicated to be used exclusively to serve God alone and to promote support and advertise his Kingdom alone is gross hypocrisy, gross idolatry and is spiritual harlotry.
The ideals of the UN charter are noble ideals, but that is because the UN is Satan's final counterfeit of the Kingdom of God, designed to divert attention from the real Kingdom of God. This counterfeit will kill millions of people. It will not achieve it's noble ideals. In fact it will become corrupt and achieve the very opposite of its ideals, because a worldwide political monopoly is the most dangerous thing on this earth for human life, which is why God split all the languages up at Babel. It will prove to be even more dangerous than terrorism which it is empowered to destroy!
It should remain a humanitarian and human rights and human security organization. It should be a judge of the world and a service to mankind, but no, it will become our master. It will become a King over mankind. In fact it already is a King over Afghanistan through the vassal Hamid Karzai. It is already the 8th biblical king of the World.
Robert Muller, retired Assistant Secretary General of the UN, defines what it means for the Harlot to ride the Beast:
Dr. Muller devoted the next 40 years of his life behind the scenes at the United Nations focusing his energies on world peace. He rose through the ranks at the UN to the official position of Assistant-Secretary-General. He has been called the "Philosopher" and "Prophet of Hope" of the United Nations.

During the last sixteen years of his career, Robert Muller worked directly with three secretaries-general, U Thant, Kurt Waldheim and Javier Perez de Cuellar, as director of the secretary general's office, as secretary of the Economic and Social Council and as deputy under-secretary-general for coordination and interagency affairs in the secretary-general's office. In this capacity he helped coordinate the work of the thirty-two U.N. specialized agencies and world programs. He was also in charge of launching several world conferences and international years. Appointed assistant secretary-general by Perez de Cuellar,
his last assignment at the U.N. was to organize the fortieth anniversary of the U.N. in 1985.

Here is a quote from “Prayer and Mediation At The United Nations” (The Watchtower 1st June 1991 describes this a an excerpt from a recent book by Robert Muller).
"Prayer, meditation and spirituality at the UN are fascinating subjects. All major world religions are accredited to the United Nations as non-governmental organizations. For example, no less than twenty-four Catholic organizations are represented at the UN. Several of the world's religious leaders have visited the international organization. Most memorable were the visits of His Holiness Pope Paul VI during the General Assembly in 1965 and of Pope John Paul II in 1979. Many religions have special invocations, prayers, hymns and services for the United Nations. The most important examples are those of the Catholic, the Unitarian-Universalist, the Baptist and the Bahai faiths. It is a common practice of the Unitarian-Universalists to display the United Nations flag in their houses of worship. So does the Holy Family Church, the parish church of the UN, with its international reliquary and its many religious services and activities catering to world peace and to the international community.”
The whole of the above less the underlined part was quoted in the Watchtower Magazine of 1st June 1991 on Page 17. But the underlined part of course is the crucial quote. It defines precisely what it means for a harlot church to ride the beast. Very simply you saddle up by becoming an associated NGO. There is no other mechanism for a religious organization to join the UN in order to ride the beast.
So the Watchtower saddled up on January 28th 1992 and dismounted on October 9th 2001.

But every JW knows that Daniel 4 had a first symbolic fulfilment, an event symbolism, described by Daniel himself, wherein Nebuchadnezzar lost his kingdom for 7 years and then regained it. And they also know that it has a second symbolic fulfilment, an account symbolism, wherein God lost his kingdom over his true people, the sons of Abraham (actually through the first Abrahamic covenant) for 2520 years. This period is the famous Gentile Times, running from 607Tishri BC to 1914Tishri AD. Although it did not start with the fall of Jerusalem (in 586), or the assasination of Gedaliah, a Levite. It started with the start of the first agricultural year of the Kingship of Jehoiakim the vassal of Pharaoh Necho - see [120].
Now since Daniel 4 has two symbolic meanings, and since the second of these two meanings was enough to convince Charles Russell that he had to get his skates on and found the Watchtower Society (to over simplify the end of the 19th century), has is not ever occurred to the reader that possibly Daniel 5 has two symbolic meanings as well? And what is so special about the book of Daniel? Might not Genesis 4 have two symbolic meanings too. After all did the same spirit not inspire both books? Are we to believe that out of all of the chapters in the Holy book, only Daniel 4 is written in a double symbolic code? Or is the whole book, in fact, in a double symbolic code?
Well, 10 years ago, the founders of the LWs realised that it was. They used this code firstly on the 7 times of Genesis 4 and discovered the Exedenic times, the period of 2520 years starting with the eviction of Adam from Eden and ending with the entrance of the sons of Israel into the promised land - see section [132]. So the Exedenic times was a malediction of 2520 years on Land, whereas the Gentile Times was a malediction of 2520 years on Kingship. They also found a third malediction of 2520 years on priesthood being able to confer the highest level of baptism (a sealing by holy spirit for everlasting life), this period called the Alienation Times ran from around 120 years before the flood until Pentecost 33 CE.
With this understanding, since they knew that Joshua entered the promised land in 1473Nisan, they were able to calculate that Adam sinned on 3993Nisan, 2520 years before, (of course it was on 3993Nisan14). With this understanding they were able to add 6,000 years and end up with 2008Nisan14, the last day of the 6,000 year lease of Satan, the 6 working days of the 7,000 year week, taking a day for a 1,000 years, with the Kingdom of God being the 1,000 year Sabbath 'day' over which Jesus is Lord - see section [16]. So to cut a long story short Adam sinned when he was 33˝ and Jesus gave his life as a corresponding ransom when he was 33˝, and Armageddon is not 6,000 years after Adam was born (the 1975 attempt) but is 6,000 years after Adam sinned. This sin being coincident with the last creative act, which is described in the bible as follows:
22 And Jehovah God proceeded to make long garments of skin for Adam and for his wife and to clothe them (Genesis 3:22)
This then was the last creative act of God in the 6th day, being something that the bible describes in terms of 'God proceeded to make'. Now if you do not believe that it is possible for man to know the date of Armageddon then wise up, because you have been lied to. Go read a Greek Interlinear translation of Matthew 24:36 - You will be surprised!
So they worked out the date of Armageddon actually they confirmed this date using Genesis 4 on February 1st 1992, on the 3rd day after the UN-Watchtower covenant came into force.
This was not a coincidence as Daniel 8 will now explain. For the vision of the constant feature and of the transgression that causes desolation in Daniel 8 was said by Gabriel to be 'for the appointed time of the end'. And the appointed time of the end is actually the time of the true knowledge of the date of the end. As mentioned above, if you think that one cannot know this date due to Matthew 24:36 please go and read a Greek interlinear bible or visit [237].
And remember that no one knows the date of their marriage (Jesus to the new covenant saints on the first day of the Kingdom of God) before they get engaged (Jesus and the 11 apostles at the last supper).
Hopefully now your mind is free and is excited. In fact, God willing, it might even be overjoyed in the holy spirit. So let's dive into Revelation 17.
1 And one of the 7 angels that had the 7 bowls came and spoke with me, saying: Come, I will show you the judgment upon the great harlot who sits on many waters,
2 with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, whereas those who inhabit the earth were made drunk with the wine of her fornication.
3 And he carried me away in [the power of the]
spirit into a wilderness.
And I saw a woman sitting upon a scarlet-colored beast that was full of blasphemous names and that had 7 heads and 10 horns.

And the woman [All Threads: The church of the 1NC saints] was arrayed in purple [royalty]
and scarlet [self sacrificing],
and was adorned with gold [sealed 1NC saints, refined by fire/testing] and precious stone [other saints, living stones, and water baptised ones, dead stones]

the mother of the harlots and of the disgusting things of the earth [Those in Revelation 13 with the mark, which is the name, of the beast on their foreheads were not themselves the UN, they were affiliated in thought to the UN,
and since they also had a mark on their hand, they were affiliated in deed, by agreement, to the UN. This woman likewise is not herself Babylon the Great, but she is affiliated in thought to Babylon the Great, she is thinking like Babylon the Great, she is an idolater. Babylon the great, being the mother of the Harlots, cannot be all false religion, or she would have no daughters. She is the Roman Catholic Church, the Christian equivalent of Ancient Babylon. ].
The Golden cup is the cup of the New Covenant, which we call the First New Covenant (1NC), owing to the existence of a Second New Covenant. So she is the body of the New Covenant saints. This groups rode the Catholic Church in the first presence, and the UN in the second presence today.
Woops! From a spiritual perspective, on the other hand it is easy to see how Satan would have offered them access to all the Kingdoms of the World (for preaching and expanding) if they would just do one act of Worship to him (by becoming associated with the UN). In fact Jesus' three trials are all prophetic of the mistakes made by FDS1,2,3. The third test of Jesus being prophetic of the sin of the 3rd true Christian religion.
9 The Devil took him along to an unusually high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to him: All these things I will give you if you fall down and do an act of worship to me (Matthew 4:9).
Guess what the unusually high mountain is today? The UN. And the Watchtower have fallen down and they have worshipped Satan through their association with his final earthly organization. Just one act. But Jesus sent Satan way from him when he was tested, and he has sent the JWs away from him today. For it is written:
10 It is the Lord your God whom you must worship, and it is to him alone that you must render sacred service (Matthew 4:10).

It is not hard to see that the UN NGO agreement was the transgression that causes desolation and that it resulted in the disgusting thing (this covenant) standing in the holy place. But to prove categorically that this agreement was the transgression that causes desolation please see [157].
We know from section [16] and from section [31] and from section [100] and from section [40] and from many other chronological understandings - see [101], that the last day of the 6,000 years of this world is 2008Nisan14 (March 21st 2008). This being 6,000 years after Adam sinned on 3993Nisan14, when he was 33.5 years old, the same age as Jesus was when he did not sin and gave a corresponding ransom. We know that Jesus died at the mid point both measured by the true Solar and the Biblical Lunar Calendar of the Abrahamic covenant:

So very simply, if you count back 1290 BLC days from the last day of this system, which is the end of the far bank of the river in Daniel 12, which is 2008Nisan14, then you reach 2004Elul14, which will be 2004September1. This is when the abomination causing desolation is placed in the Watchtower, which is their acceptance of some new UN rules for all religions. If you then count back a further 4600 solar days of our current Gregorian calendar then you end up on 28th/29th January 1992, the very day when the Watchtower was accepted by the UN and the disgusting covenant came into force. Disgusting because the Watchtower are covenanted to advertise promote and support not the counterfeit to Gods kingdom but the Kingdom itself.
So this act of idolatry, of spiritual harlotry, which was hidden from all JWs and ex JWs for 10 years actually confirms the whole Chronology of the LWs in the irony of God. And here is the finesse of the greatest mind in the universe, not that he is actually 'in' the universe:
11 [To] the One putting those who are low on a high place. So that those who are sad are high up in salvation
12 [To the] One frustrating the schemes of the shrewd. So that their hands do not work with effect
13 [To the] One catching the wise in their own cunning. So that the counsel of astute ones is carried headlong (Job 5:11-13).
Gordon got his first witness to the date of Armageddon on February1 1992, the 3rd day counting exclusively after the agreement was made. So the appointed time of the end began then, with the true knowledge of the date of the end. There is a second 4600 solar day period for the second 'holy one' of the sons of the 2NC, which actually begins with Gordon's calculation on February 1 (before the evening) rather than with the transgression causing desolation of January 28/29, and it ends with the completion of the temple of FDS4 which will be on 2004Elul16, not on 2004Elul14, which is the destruction of the temple of FDS3, the placing of the Abomination causing desolation.
13 And I got to hear a certain holy one speaking, and another holy one proceeded to say to the particular one who was speaking: How long will the vision be of the constant [feature] and of the transgression causing desolation, to make both [the] holy place and [the] army things to trample on?
14 So he said to me: Until 2,300 evenings [and]
mornings; and [the] holy place will certainly be brought into its right condition.
17 So he came beside where I was standing, but when he came I got terrified so that I fell upon my face. And he proceeded to say to me: Understand, Oh son of man, that the vision is for the time of [the]
end.
18 And while he was speaking with me, I had become fast asleep on my face on the earth. So he touched me and made me stand up where I had been standing.
19 And he went on to say: Here I am causing you to know what will occur in the final part of the denunciation, because it is for the appointed time of [the] end.
We take 4600 days rather than 2300 days, because the 2300 days (stated as 2300 evenings and 2300 mornings) is the first symbolism, the event symbolism which applies to the physical temple of the Jews in the days of Judas Maccabeus. But the second presence fulfilment is a word symbolism, which allows a substitution, and we take a day for a constant feature sacrifice - since it is a vision of the constant feature and get 4600 days. Alternatively there are 4600 part days in the vision so we take a part day for a whole day. For the full story see - [157].
Desolation is a word used for Babylon the Harlot. She is said to be lying desolate, and she will be left devastated and naked. But since the Watchtower has ridden the Beast it is plainly a Harlot church, and so it will become devastated desolate and naked. The transgression causing this desolation is plainly the UN-Watchtower agreement.
Jesus obviously refers to Daniel 12 when he says:
15 Therefore, when you catch sight of the disgusting thing that causes desolation, as spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in a holy place, (let the reader use discernment)
16 then let those in Judea begin fleeing to the mountains.
17 Let the man on the housetop not come down to take the goods out of his house,
18 and let the man in the field not return to the house to pick up his outer garment (Matthew 24:15-18).
14 However, when you catch sight of the disgusting thing that causes desolation standing where it ought not (let the reader use discernment), then let those in Judea begin fleeing to the mountains.

In the literal meaning this means that even today, and in fact now, since we are in the Great Tribulation, those in Judea who see the disgusting thing that causes desolation standing in the holy place of Matthew 24 (which is the UN taking control of the temple mount in Jerusalem - we think) should flee to the physical mountains of Judea just as the faithful Christians did after Cestius defiled the temple of Moriah in 66 Tishri before Titus came to destroy Jerusalem and burn the temple on 70Ab10. So our advice to anyone with faith in God in Judea is prepare your mountain abode now!! If not then you will see Jerusalem surrounded by encamped armies, but by then you will have not time to return to take your outer garment or your goods out of your house. So for a nice relaxed and organised mountain flight may we suggest - Now!
This we think is the word symbolic meaning of for today:..
The house is an administrative centre of the JWs
The mountains are the administrations of the congregations of the LWs
Judea is the Watchtower
The disgusting thing causing desolation is the non remnant brothers running the religion of the 1NC saints
The field is those who are being cultivated, those who are being taught to be JWs, bible studies etc
The man on the rooftop has spiritual vision, he sees the disgusting thing and the mountains to flee to.
Goods are non human administrative assets of the Watchtower.
The man in the field, hears catches sight of the disgusting thing through his conversations with others.
The outer garment is the Watchtower priesthood of the fleeing man.
So come on now you witnesses of the true God: Who is feeding you at the proper time today? Who's your faithful and discreet slave? And who is keeping you in the dark and beating you? Who is the evil slave?
It is important to heed Jesus' counsel and save yourself. But equally it is important to try to preserve your loving bonds with your brothers and sisters in the congregation. But this must be done without going back into the house! So make your decision, write to the elders, but do not visit them, since they are in the house. Tell them that you will be resigning effective 7 days, but do not tell them why, tell them absolutely nothing, or they may take immediate satanic control freak measures to destroy your relationships with all of your friends in the congregation before you can get to speak to them. Then visit all your friends during that 7 days whilst you are still a JW. Tell them why you are joining the LWs, but do not try to convince them to come with you at that time, since you are giving up your priesthood as a JW, your outer-garment.
Just try to convince them that they should not shun you and that your love them has not changed. Point out that Jesus did not shun either Tax collectors, Harlots, Pharisees, Samaritans, Gentiles, Demon possessed men, Lepers or Satan himself. Ask them if they can show you any scripture where Jesus shunned anyone. If they cannot show you such a scripture, then ask them if they are disciples of Jesus or of someone else perhaps? Try to convince them to stay friends with you and not to trash your love for them or their love for you. Perhaps remind them that the whole universe was created to grow love, not to destroy it. Beg them not to give in to the control freak tactics of the Watchtower. Satan is the control freak, God is the love freak, a freedom freak. If you shun someone, you are not loving them. Jesus commanded us to love even our enemies, he also said we should treat a disfellowshipped person as a tax-collector. It is not a good idea to shun a tax collector! Your accountant would not advise it! Paul said that the spiritual man examines indeed all things, that would include LW understandings!
Then once you are free of the JWs, and you have got your head round the basic LW understandings, try and go back and witness to those you love in prison in the Watchtower.
